Fast forward to July. As a result of the accident blood work was done & he was directed to other Dr's. More blood work & a call from the Dr's office wanting to discuss the results. He had an appt already set up for the end of July, so he waited & went to the scheduled appt. The results were shattering, but not totally a surprise.  The diagnosis was as follows:
1 Cancer of the Liver
2 Hepatitis C
3 Pancreatic Cancer
Here is a man who got sober & was looking forward to a new life. That has changed...now..we start on a different life for sure.
A lot has happened since I last visited this page. My alcoholic has gone sober. I put him out of the house in January 2015, I just couldn't take any more. About a month after he moved out,he checked himself into detox (his choice)  & started the road to sobriety. The man I met as a sober person, was the man I knew he could have always been. Kind, sweet, hard working...every thing would be ok, even if we did end up divorcing.

About 4 months into his sobriety, disaster struck. He was riding his bike one day when a car pulled out in front of him & hit him. He ended up in the trauma unit where they loaded him up with Morphine & Dilauded (sp) ..either way not a good combo for a man with an addiction problem. Even in the hospital, he said if he had to go back to detox again, that's what he would do. Thankfully THAT wasn't necessary. This happened in May. What happens next is heartbreaking.....
